Hello! My name is Alison, and I graduated with a BFA in Graphic Design at Columbia College Chicago. I worked for 6 years at local copy shops, where I assisted customers with their design and printing needs. As a result, print design (such as business cards and flyers) is my area of expertise.
Graphic design has been my passion since I was a senior in high school. I took a graphic design course at the time, and when my t-shirt design was selected for the school’s Special Olympics team, I knew it was what I wanted to be. I will never forget the feeling I had of seeing others in the shirt I created. I hope to not only color the world with my designs, but also create happiness like how I felt with those shirts.
I started Chicory Designs to focus on that passion for design. I hope to learn and improve my design skills while assisting others!
The name Chicory Designs is after the chicory flower, which is a small, blue flower that is often found on the sides of roads. When I was a kid, I would often pick chicories and other wildflowers with my grandma when we went out on walks. To this day I still take an occasional glance to see if I find any chicories.
When I’m not designing, I’m spending time with my fiancé and our pets, a husky and a guinea pig. Some of my hobbies include gaming (current addiction is Animal Crossing), watching anime, and cooking with my fiancé.
